Giving Thanks

Kurt has always told me that Thanksgiving is his absolute favorite holiday. He claims this is because he gets to stuff his face, be lazy, watch football, hang with family, and most importantly no presents are expected! This year I realized that he has a point. It really is so nice to be with family and the expectations are low.

Here we are at my parent's house on Thanksgiving Day right before we feasted.

Halle and her Great Grandma Nelson. (She is close to 90 as well. Doesn't she look fabulous?)

One thing I love about Kurt's family is that they always eat on Friday, the day after. It's SO nice not having to deal with both families on Thanksgiving Day. Here is the Big H with Kurt's family. Yes, she was trying to sit on the dog.

At 8 months, Halle's cute little personality is really starting to shine through. She is the most easy going kid ever (a Kurt quality) with a teensy bit of sass (definitely a Kim quality). Isn't she such a doll? Man, I just love her.

October and Halle-ween

This month has been a busy one. I guess we will start at the beginning.
First of October, we went to St. George with my family and had a blast. Stayed right off of Sand Hollow golf course so we golfed, went boating, shopped, and went to Tuacan. I have decided that I love traveling with family because you have a built in babysitter!

Kurt and I playing Sand Hollow golf course. It was amazingly beautiful.

Me, my sisters, and my pops. His lifejacket is a tad small:)

I was a tad rusty on the wakeboard. It's been a while.

Happy 90th birthday Grandma! I swear my family lives forever. This may be the last picture you see of us together for a while because about a month ago, Kurt got called to be the BISHOP of our ward. Yeah, you heard me right. He is 28.

These lovely ladies are responsible for my sanity. I love getting out and doing fun things with them and the kiddos. We walk several times a week and our neighborhood has been gorgeous this fall.

Once again, obsessed with the fall leaves.

Our friends Al and Ash throw a killer Halloween party every year. It was murder mystery with a casino theme. Kurt was Elvis and I was Lucy Legs. Now that we have Halle, I love going out alone with Kurt. In fact, I crave it:)

Walked to a cute pumpkin patch by our house. Big H didn't really know the difference, but I got some cute pictures!

I know it appears in this picture that Claire is Halle's big sister... but they are just friends:)

We dressed Miss Halle up as a ladybug this year. It was such an easy decision once I realized it was game day on Halloween and she needed to be wearing her crimson red!

Here she is at the primary party. Just like her mom, she already loves her candy:)

She looked extra cute in her costume because she is crawling now and looked like a REAL ladybug!

Halle and I getting a ride in the wagon by Grandpa Anderson.

Last but very much not least, Halle is getting so big! I swear she has aged 10 years in just a month. At 7 months, she is on her 2nd tooth, crawls everywhere, pulls herself up to both sitting and standing, eats solids 3 times a day, babbles a ton, and gets in to everything.

Here she is getting into her toy box. Is it bad that I think it is SO cute??

The other day I put Halle down for a nap. About 15 minutes later, I peeked back in to grab her laundry and I found her doing this. Scared the crap out of me. I made Kurt come home on his lunch break and lower her mattress:) Sorry the picture is so dark, it was taken with my cell phone.

Sorry this has been such a long post... we have been busy!

Isn't she lovely?

Feast your eyes on these beauties. This is my lady at 6 months. We went to Newport with our friends (who is also Kurt's boss) Brandon and Brienne a couple of weeks ago. These sweet pics of Halle were taken by Brienne in our hotel room. Didn't they turn out awesome? This woman is talented I tell ya.

The trip was fun, but I think we all decided in the end that we are Vegas folks:)

We got our pictures taken a couple of weeks ago and I love how they turned out. Kurt's cousin's wife took them and she is great and VERY affordable. Check her out at http://www.adamandkasey.blogspot.com/

Here are a couple of my favorites

We also just returned from two little weekend vaca's. More pics of Big H to come!!

Obsession

So my favorite season of all time is just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited. I don't know what it is about fall that makes me so happy. It's probably a combination of the gorgeous leaves, the crisp cool weather, Utah football games, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and pumpkin flavored foods. I just love it all and can't WAIT to share my favorite season with Halle:)

There aren't a lot of things that I love about Sugarhouse but this is one of them. When I lived up there with my roommates in college, the fall leaves were absolutely breathtaking. They covered everything- houses, streets, cars, etc. I was in heaven.

Utah football season has arrived! Halle can finally wear that drawer full of Utah attire that has been anxiously awaiting.

Here is a picture of us enjoying the nice, cooler weather. I think Halle likes it:)

Halle's Rough Weekend

Since Halle was about a week old, she has had a blocked tear duct in her right eye. This has caused her eye to be continuously goopy. I was constantly wiping it, and she woke up every morning with it dried shut. Nasty and annoying huh? Thanks to a referral by our friend Brienne, we decided to take her to an eye doctor last Friday, and get it fixed right there in his office. They "swaddled" her to this little board and the doctor stuck a long metal probe thing (looked like a straightened out paper clip) into the corner of her eye and down her tear duct until he heard a "pop" and that unplugged the tear duct. I have issues with sticking things in eyes so this was particularly hard for me. Yes, she freaked out for the procedure and for about 5 min afterward, but then she was just fine. I stood in the corner facing the wall and cried for the 30 sec that it took. Kurt watched but I think that made it worse because he said now he can't get that nasty "popping" sound out of his head! The doctor said it was actually clogged twice and probably never would have resolved on it's own (meaning we would have had to do real surgery once she was a year old). Needless to say, the 30 seconds of torture was totally worth getting practically a brand new eye:) We are so glad we did it.

Here is a picture of her non-goopy eye. Aren't those big brown eyes stunning?
